Is refusing to let the police search me an admission of guilt?
It is never an admission of guilt to refuse to cooperate with the police. You have a Fifth Amendment right to remain silent, and you have a Fourth Amendment right that protects you from illegal searches and seizures. Your willingness or unwillingness to cooperate with the police are completely irrelevant when it comes to trial. If you refuse, that’s your right, stand by your rights. They’re your rights, and I advise my clients to exercise their rights every step of the way. We’re here to protect you. You should start out by protecting yourself by knowing your rights and invoking them as needed.
