What is a no contact order?

A no contact order is exactly what it says it is. That means that you cannot contact the other person. That means directly, meaning by a phone call or in person, or indirectly meaning through a third party. You can’t ask your cousin Joey to find out how your wife is doing. That would be a violation of the no contact order. You need to keep your distance if you’re at a restaurant or at the supermarket, and the other person walks in, that’s not necessarily a violation.

You need to leave, you need to give them the space, so take your opportunities to make sure that you keep your distance and be aware that you don’t accidentally violate your no contact order by driving past their home. That would again would be a violation. Take your time, go around the block, go the other direction. Stay away from that person and let your attorney fight to get that no contact order dissolved.
