Can grandparents be awarded custody/time-sharing of their grandchild(ren) in Florida?

That’s a very complex issue. Grandparents technically have no rights in Florida regarding time-sharing with their grandchildren. However, Florida does provide for certain circumstances in which grandparents may be awarded parental responsibility and time-sharing, which are words for custody over their grandchildren under special circumstances where it really is in the child’s best interest, or the parents are not able to provide the appropriate care for their children.
