Are Florida courts more likely to award custody/time-sharing to mothers than to fathers?

No. Florida courts will look at each parent as an individual. There is no, “Mother is best for a child,” or “Father is best for the child.” The courts look at a lot of factors, including the age of the child when time-sharing is set up to make sure that the child has proper time with both parents, recognizing that sometimes the child might have more needs with one parent than another at that time. The basis for each and every ruling in each and every agreement is what is in the best interest of the child. It’s almost never in the best interest of a child for a parent not to have time with their child.
